Baptism

Baptism is the first sacrament, welcoming new members into the Christian community and cleansing them of original sin. It is the gateway to all other sacraments. We celebrate baptisms regularly at St. Martin de Porres. For infant baptism, parents are typically required to attend a preparation class. Adult baptism occurs through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA).

Parents must be registered parishioners for a minimum of six months. Please note that appointments are available by appointment only, and preparation classes are required

The adult preparation for the baptism of children (newborn babies to 6-year-old children) consists of one session. This takes place on the first Sunday of each month at 3:00 PM in the church.

Parents and godparents must participate in baptism preparation before the reception of the sacrament and are encouraged to do so during the pregnancy. Baptisms are scheduled and celebrated following participation in the baptismal class.

Baptism Preparation classes are held on the first Sunday of the month at 3:00 pm. Please contact the parish office to schedule an appointment.
