Dear Brothers and Sisters, This week, we are invited to reflect on one of the most significant miracles in the Gospel—the Wedding Feast at Cana. Jesus’ first public miracle, performed at a wedding celebration. The miracle itself—transforming water into wine—may seem simple at first glance, yet it carries a deep and profound message for us today. At Cana, Jesus is present at a moment of celebration. His presence at the wedding feast reminds us that Christ is with us not only in moments of sorrow and trial but also in times of joy and festivity. This first miracle of Jesus marks the beginning of His public ministry and is a sign of the abundant grace He offers to all. It also reveals something of the nature of God’s Kingdom—one of generosity and transformation. Just as the water was transformed into the finest wine, we called to be transformed through Christ's presence in our lives. In the ordinary moments of our lives, Jesus invites us to open our hearts to Him, so that we, too, can experience His transformative love. I also want to highlight the role of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, in this story. When the wine runs out, it is Mary who brings the concern to Jesus. Her simple but profound intercession reminds us of the powerful role she plays in guiding us to her Son. In times of need, let us be like Mary—trusting in Jesus and bringing our concerns to Him, knowing that He listens and responds with love. As we journey through this season of Ordinary Time, let us remember that Christ is always present with us, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary, filling our lives with grace, and leading us into deeper communion with Him. Let us also keep in mind the power of intercessory prayer, following the example of Mary, and bring our joys, our struggles, and our hopes before the Lord. May this week be one where we open our hearts to the grace and presence of God, knowing that He is at work in all things, ready to fill our lives with His love and peace. Ornament Pick-up - Christmas ornaments that hung on our tree or around the altar for the Advent/Christmas season can be picked up after each mass this weekend. They are in boxes alphabetically ordered in the parish hall. If you purchased an ornament for someone or know someone bought one for you, please feel free to retrieve it. These ornaments have all been blessed and have represented our loved one's presence during this holy season. Hopefully, they will be handled with the respect and sentiment they were intended for. Any ornaments that are not picked up will be put away until next year. The Wild 5: (A Proven Path to Wellness) - This five-week group will be held in the parish hall beginning Saturday, January 25th at 10:00 am. St. Martin de Porres, pray for us! Fr. Dominic
