Father Dominic Briese is our pastor here at St. Martin de Porres. He is a member of the Western Dominican Province and has served the Utah community since 2012.
Father Dominic was born in Mineloa, New York. After high school, he came to Utah to attend the University of Utah where he earned a bachelor's degree in finance. He then went on to work at Hill Air Force Base for several years prior to entering the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, California. Father Dominic was ordained a priest on June 1, 1996, for the Western Dominican Province at St.Dominic's Church in San Francisco by Bishop Carlos Sevilla. Following his ordination he served for six years as Associate Pastor, first in Phoenix, then in San Francisco. He was then appointed Director of the University of Las Vegas Newman Center. After that appointment, he was transferred to a parish in Sacramento, California, where he served as pastor and a preacher at St. Albert’s Priory. Father Dominic speaks both English and Spanish. |
