Mission Statement

Knights of Columbus Spaghetti Dinner

Saturday, January 25th, 6:30-8:30 PM

Tickets will be sold after Mass on the 12th and 19th.

Mere Christianity  by C.S. Lewis, Reflection Group

A reflection group on C.S. Lewis's book, Mere Christianity, a classic and powerful book, will begin Thursday, January 16th at 7:00 pm.  

C.S Lewis, a theologian and the author of many books, including The Chronicles of Narnia, The Screwtape Letters, etc., found his way to Christianity after living much of his life as an atheist. He writes very impactfully on what it means to be a Christian. ​

​The book can be purchased on Amazon ($10.29), purchased after Mass at the back of the church ($11.00), or checked out from your local library. The group will meet for five consecutive weeks.  Please sign up at the back of the church if you are interested in joining us. WILD 5

The Wild 5: (A Proven Path to Wellness) - Beginning Saturday, January 25th at 10:00 am, a group focused on Wellness Interventions for Life's Demands will be held in the parish hall.  

Studies show that when this step-by-step, practical 30-day program is followed, participants' happiness, enthusiasm, resilience, and optimism increase. The studies also show depression, anxiety, insomnia, and emotional eating decrease.  
​If you want to begin or continue a wellness journey with fellow parishioners, join us!  You will likely learn something about improving your health physically, mentally, and spiritually, and you may meet someone new while having fun!  The group is offered at no cost, but you will need to purchase a workbook for $5.00.  You can purchase the book after Mass this weekend, next weekend, or on the first day of the group, January 25th. There is a sign-up sheet in the gathering space at the back of the church if you plan to attend.  You may contact Connie Gardner at 801-673-8284 or [email protected], if you have any questions. ​

Respect Life Committee Clothing Drive

St. Martin de Porres’ Respect Life committee is sponsoring a clothing drive for the homeless. It will be run in conjunction with the Good Samaritan program. The drive runs from Jan 9 through Feb 9. There will be bins in the gathering space in which to place items.

Upcoming Parish Events

• ​​January 16 through February 13- Mere Christianity Reflection Group meets at 7:00 pm Thursdays. 
• January 25-Knights of Columbus Spaghetti Dinner, 6:30-8:30 pm in the parish hall.
• January is Sanctity of the Unborn Month
  • ​January 24th-Ceremony of Lights will be at the Cathedral of the Madeleine at 6:00 pm
  • January 25th-January 25th-” March for Life” at the State Capitol. Rosary starts at 10:00 am, followed by a March at 11:00 am.
  • January 26th-A bilingual rosary will be recited at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at the Monument of the Unborn at 2:00 pm
• ​​January 9th through February 9th - Clothing drive sponsored by the Respect Life committee
• The WILD 5 program will begin on Saturday, January 25th, at 10:00 am and run for 5 weeks.
